We are excited to announce that our 1929 Tracta A successfully participated in all three races at the Le Mans Classic this year! From June 29th to July 2nd, the Le Mans Classic hosted thousands of classic cars, with many having appeared in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. For the 100th anniversary of the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year, our Tracta A was invited to the event as it raced in the 1929 and and won its class in the 1930 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Prior to admission to the Le Mans Classic, our Tracta was required to complete a certification process that included a Historical Technical Passport (HTP) issued by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). This document allows us to race this car in FIA sanctioned historical motor sport events, such as the Le Mans Classic.
Our 1929 Tracta A raced in the 24 Hours of Le Mans multiple times and was engineer-inventor Jean-Albert Gregoire's personal race vehicle. The Tracta company was a collaboration between Gregoire and his friend Pierre Fenaille, with the two having the intention of doing something different in the automotive industry. They definitely accomplished that goal: the Tracta company built the first production front-wheel-drive car that used constant velocity drive shafts.
